/ 02 · The problem

Most people do not have a continuity system. They have documents, bank accounts, insurance policies, company records, loans, leases, contacts, obligations, deadlines, passwords, family knowledge and emergency instructions scattered across portals, emails, folders, notes and memory.

That works until someone else has to understand it. A spouse. A family member. A business partner. A trusted operator. A person suddenly responsible for making sense of the whole structure when the original owner is unavailable, ill, overloaded or gone.

/ 03 · The system

Continuity Vault starts from a simple premise: critical life, family and business knowledge should not live only inside one person's head. It should be structured.

The product is not a password manager and not a note-taking app. Continuity requires domain structure: people, companies, bank accounts, policies, debts, leases, assets, properties, legal contacts, recurring payments, renewal dates, documents, emergency instructions and decision paths.

The system operates across four layers: the record layer, the deadline layer, the emergency layer and an agent layer that helps review missing information and maintain the vault over time without owning the data.

/ 04 · Architecture direction

The architecture has to respect the sensitivity of the data. A continuity vault needs a stronger model than a standard multi-tenant SaaS database: local-first storage, encrypted data, keyfile-based access or a cloud layer where the provider cannot read the contents without the user-controlled key.

The data should be useful, but dead without the key. The design points toward a separated core: frontend, API, domain library, encrypted storage and optional MCP or server layer for agent access. The domain model should be portable. Local SQLite, encrypted file storage or cloud-with-local-key are more appropriate directions than a standard sensitive database behind a login.
